In the heart of the Aravis, you are invited to take part in the ‘travel journals, watercolour and sketching’ course, offering you a chance to rediscover nature in a relaxed atmosphere that combines observation, technical instruction, creativity, relaxation and friendly competition.
Throughout the week, themes and locations change daily: the spectacular landscapes of the Aravis, typical local architecture, alpine and wildflowers, and farm animals (such as the famous Abondance cows).
On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, sessions take place on location to explore the different facets of drawing and painting in the great outdoors. On Thursdays, a full-day outing is scheduled to allow time to create a more detailed watercolour.
The course is open to everyone, including adults and young people aged 11 and over.
No prior knowledge of watercolour techniques is required, as this is primarily a course focused on observation, drawing with pencil and brush, and learning watercolour techniques to create small works from life using the quick techniques typical of sketchbook artists.
In case of rain, the sessions take place in the studio.
To get to the studio, there are five steps to climb; the entrance door is 80 cm wide.
Meet up every morning at the 4 Seasons workshop.
Bring water for painting and drinking, a sun hat or a small parasol, a seat (cushion, folding...), a drawing stand, drawing and watercolour material or rent it on site (5 € per session or 25 € per week), good shoes and a picnic for the Thursday outing.
Possibility to register for the session.
Booking at the Tourist Information Center.
