A footpath that straddles the Franco-Swiss border reveals the many hidden or forgotten faces of the architectural, historic, rural and natural heritage of the Geneva Basin.
Sightseeing: the remains of the Roman tile-making works in Fargout Woods, the Roman encampment in Chancy, the tile-making works, the castle and church in Pougny, an old bridge over the River Rhône, Chancy Bridge, the old ford across the Rhône, the woodlands and riverbanks, the islands downstream from Collonges (once a river crossing), l'Etournel (biotope protected by a Prefectoral Order), border stone no. 1 (Vers-Vaux) dating from 1816, the fluvio-glacial terraces, the steps and the Sardinian marker. On the way, you will pass through the village of Valleir in Haute-Savoie, Chancy in Switzerland and Pougny in Ain. The walk takes 5 hrs 30 mins.
