Discover snowshoeing with the mountain leaders from the Guides Office of La Clusaz. Come explore the magnificent landscapes of the Aravis and experience the mountains in a different way.
Beginner or experienced hikers, whatever your fitness level, snowshoeing is perfect for discovering and contemplating the winter mountain environment around La Clusaz. The Aravis mountain range is full of wild places where the guides and mountain leaders will take you for a moment of escape and sharing, ideal for recharging your batteries.
Several options are available, for either a half-day or full day.
4 different levels:
- Green: Half-day, introduction, about 2 hours of walking.
- Blue: Half-day, little elevation gain and no technical difficulty.
- Red: Half-day, more challenging outing with elevation gain and some steeper climbs and/or descents (up to 350 m of elevation).
- Black: Full day, a demanding hike for experienced hikers, with no particular technical difficulties, but covering a longer distance with greater elevation gain (400 to 600 m) (accessible from 12 y.o.).
A weekly schedule is available at theGuides Office.
It’s also possible to do a nighttime outing, on Thursday evening from 6 pm: "Snowshoeing and gastronomy under the stars": Easy level. 200 m of elevation gain. A simple hike of about 1h30 before dinner and 30 minutes to return to the cars. Savoyard dinner included.
Equipment to bring:
- Snowshoes and poles (not provided)
- Waterproof and high-ankle shoes (for ankle support)
- Warm and waterproof clothing
- Small backpack with water and a packed lunch
