Farming and barns on Mont Bénand

74500 Bernex
A hike to discover local traditions: pastoral life, agriculture and barns, a rich heritage that can be seen at Mont Bénand.
Departing from the Alpage de Creusaz parking lot (Bernex), students will head for Mont Bénand. They'll learn about the pastoral environment, the traditions of mid-mountain farming and see the historic barns.
A picnic lunch will be served at the summit, where the group can enjoy a panoramic view of Lake Geneva and the mountains. The panorama will provide an opportunity to explore the history of landscape formation.
In the afternoon, the students will pass through a forest with several levels of vegetation and remarkable flora and fauna, before heading back to Bernex.

Half-day outing possible
What to bring: picnic, shoes and clothing suitable for mountain hiking (fleece, windbreaker, even in summer), cap, glasses, water, notebook, pencil - the terrain can be muddy.
