Parc Biolley, 73 rue du Lac Vert, 74190 Passy
A beautiful family loop, accessible for most of the year, which takes you as close as possible to the splendid Chedde waterfall, classified as a Natural Site of France, while inviting you to trace the destination's Baroque past...
This loop is one of the small baroque loops in the Mont-Blanc region. A comic book on sale at the Tourist Office (6€) adds a touch of fun to your walk and tells you more about the history of the places you pass through. With its two short climbs, this is an ideal walk for families wishing to learn about mountain hiking. Thanks to its low altitude, it remains accessible for most of the year. From Parc Biolley in Chedde, head up Rue de la Cascade and follow the Ugine (chemin de l'Ugine) towards the splendid Chedde waterfall. After a short ascent, climb up to the promontory to admire this natural jewel of Passy Mont Blanc. At the top of the path, go down the road on your right (Route des Soudans) for about 300 m, then take the carriageway on your left (Chemin des Butteux, lower section). At the next junction, take the narrow path that climbs left through the forest towards the hamlet of Joux. In the hamlet, follow Montée Charles Bozon to the Joux chapel. At the end of this road, take the Chemin des Butteux (upper section) on your right, downhill towards Chedde. Then turn left, taking care not to take the Chemin des Benons. Back at the intersection with Route des Soudans, go straight on into Rue du Lac Vert, which will take you straight back to your starting point at Parc Biolley.
