Portes du Soleil Race of Champions: a day of festivities
A great end-of-season race on the Nyon plateau, where children rub shoulders with the champions of the Portes du Soleil resorts, all invited and present to ski, sign autographs, pose and cheer on the young talents.
The race is open to children belonging to Portes du Soleil ski clubs and surrounding towns and villages, as well as the schools and colleges involved.
All Portes du Soleil champions who are members of the French or Swiss teams in all disciplines: alpine skiing, Nordic combined, handisport, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, ski mountaineering, telemark skiing.... are invited to take part.
The race is followed in the afternoon by a grand parade through the streets of the village, with children parading under the banner of their ski-club or school, and the prize-giving ceremony hosted by the champions.
