The Magna Grecia Orchestra, conducted by the charismatic Maestro Stefano Pietrodarchi on bandoneon, takes us on an emotional journey through the unforgettable melodies of great Italian cinema and the sensual atmospheres of Argentine tango.
Discover a refined and passionate program featuring works by Ennio Morricone, Astor Piazzolla, and Nino Rota.
The program includes:
Three Themes, Soledad, Adiós Nonino, Jorge Adiós, Sur, Libertango, as well as a special tribute to Federico Fellini and the golden age of Italian cinema.
Ennio Morricone, an absolute genius of film music and composer of soundtracks that have marked the history of cinema—from The Mission to Once Upon a Time in the West, from Cinema Paradiso to The Hateful Eight—has masterfully blended symphonic depth with immediate emotion.
Astor Piazzolla, a revolutionary of tango, combined Argentine folk roots with jazz and classical music, creating a new and universal musical language. His compositions – intense, poignant, vibrant – come to life thanks to the authentic sound of the bandoneon.
At the heart of this project is Maestro Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, a bandoneon virtuoso acclaimed on stages around the world and a protagonist in prestigious collaborations, notably with Andrea Bocelli, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, and the Sanremo Festival. His intense and refined interpretation gives voice to the soul of Piazzolla's music and much more.
