First concert of the 2025-2026 season of the Camerata du Mont-Blanc
On Sunday 19 October 2025, the Camerata du Mont-Blanc will kick off its tenth musical season, much to the delight of regulars in the Mont Blanc region. Founded in Chamonix in October 2016 and supported by the Municipality of Chamonix and the Department of Haute-Savoie, the ensemble already has a rich repertoire of 130 works for string ensemble, ranging from Baroque to contemporary.
The programme will include Georg Friedrich Händel's Concerto No. 12 in B minor, completing almost the entire Opus 6, and Felix Mendessohn-Bartholdy's brilliant and highly virtuosic Symphony No. 12.
Dvorak will also be honoured with a rarely performed piece, Nocturne for String Orchestra, Op. 40, and the ensemble will highlight the Hungarian composer Gyula Beliczay, unjustly forgotten by our contemporaries, with his beautiful Serenade for Strings, Op. 36.
Admission to this concert is free – donations welcome on exit – but booking is strongly recommended by contacting the association (until 12 noon on the day of the concert) by email or text message using the contact details below, providing the following information for each participant: surname, first name, email address and mobile phone number.
