The Ostensio choir presents "Consolations": a concert of polyphonic sacred songs where divine comfort is recounted in music from the Renaissance to the present day. The voices mingle with the lamentations of a wounded soul seeking solace.
The Ostensio Choir, a young and accomplished amateur vocal ensemble in Savoy and beyond, explores the repertoire of sacred a cappella music from the Middle Ages to the present day. It is committed to the meaning of the texts and to respecting the sacred nature of the compositions. Its aim is to allow a wide audience to experience beauty during its concerts and to make the stones of the churches in its rural and mountainous region resonate.
The Consolations program will offer a selection of early and contemporary works from the a cappella polyphonic repertoire: Whitacre, Gabrieli, Barber, Rachmaninov, Jenkins, and others.
