The ascent is on a wide, easy trail. From the chalet at La Grande Montagne, you can enjoy magnificent views over the Thônes valley, the Envers de la Tournette and the Parmelan.
Nestled in the heart of the Espace Naturel Sensible du Sulens, this chalet has been transformed into a mountain pasture-school jointly managed by the Communauté de Communes and agricultural schools. The only one of its kind in France, it aims to become a genuine center for innovation and awareness of pastoral, forestry and environmental issues. Its vocation is to train young people and adults in the typical activities of a mountain pasture, from animal husbandry to cheese-making. And you can visit it too!
