Between mountains and desert, Christel Pernet's life journey has the power of a romantic epic.
From the slopes of Le Grand-Bornand to the dunes of Niger, Christel has put her nomadic spirit at the service of the desert peoples, the Tuaregs and the Fulani, to the point of bringing water and life to the heart of the Sahara.
Since 2004, with her association Les Puits du Désert (The Wells of the Desert), created with her partner Mohamed Ixa, she has brought hundreds of wells, schools and clinics out of the sand.
Throughout the pages, we discover the strength of a humanist woman who, like the harshness of the mountains and the solitude of the desert, has overcome difficulties to restore pride and faith in the future to the women and children of the sands.
