This country walk reveals two very different faces of Salève. In the north, it forms a balcony overlooking the Geneva Basin; in the south, there are woods and alpine pastures. It's a pleasant walk as well as a cable car trip worthy of an "eco-citizen".
Take the cable car up the mountain to see the scenery on the way up. At the top, you'll find a breathtaking panoramic view of Geneva, a viewing table, a botany trail and a playground. As you climb, Mont Blanc comes gradually into view. The path back to the cable car snakes its way between alpine pastures and forests.
When crossing the pastures, please close gates behind you and do not damage the fences or water supply. Do not frighten the animals and keep your dog on a lead.

- Close to the path: exhibition in the upper cable car terminus, botany trail, restaurant with panoramic view, paragliding takeoff area. Not far away: the village of Monnetier-Mornex, once a high-altitude resort, the old Salève funicular terminus, 19th-century hotels and boarding houses, Ermitage Castle and small shops. There are cafes and restaurants in La Croisette.
