Meet and greet with Pascale Vuarchex, author of "Lydouchka, from Russia to Brison".
This is the story of Lydia, a teenager of Russian origin, deported to a forced labor camp (STO) in Germany during the Second World War. There, she met Joseph, a fellow deportee from Haute-Savoie, from a small village in Haute-Savoie called Brison, perched at an altitude of 1,000 meters, 10 kilometers from Bonneville.
At the end of the war, unable to return home to Russia, Joseph offered to take her to Brison in Haute-Savoie. It was there that she discovered a country, a village, a family, a culture, and a foreign language, secretly hoping to see her mother and her homeland in Russia again.
Pascale Vuarchex, her daughter-in-law, along with Lydia's children, decided to pay tribute to this woman who fought all her life to find her place, despite the painful events in foreign lands, which nevertheless offered her the paths to marital and familial love.
