The icon is the representation of holy figures in the Christian tradition. Much more than a work of art, it is a true spiritual practice: a support for prayer and contemplation, it opens up a space of relationship between man and the Divine.
This introductory workshop with Marie-Courbe Michollet, iconographer for 40 years, will introduce you to :
- Learning the technique: preparing the plate, drawing, gilding, preparing and applying the colors, mounting the lights, right through to varnishing with linseed oil.
- The theological and spiritual approach specific to icons.
