Discover the relationship between local farming practices and Evian mineral water, through workshops at the GAEC Savoie-Gascogne educational farm and a visit to the Terragr'Eau methanizer.
Morning at the farm (9:30am-12pm), class divided into 2 groups, rotating after 1h15: while one group visits the farm with the farmer (making white tomme, feeding animals hay, using animal manure), the other group will do a landscape reading and build a mini-model of the impluvium basement. Lunch on site (12h-12h45) with cheese tasting.
Optional afternoon (1pm-4pm; middle school and Thursday only): guided bus tour of the Gavot plateau, followed by a stop at the Vinzier methaniseur. While one group takes a guided tour of the Terragr'Eau methanization unit (led by the site manager - duration: approx. 1 hour), the other group travels through the meadows and wetlands of the impluvium to understand the influence of methanization on agricultural practices, water quality preservation and biodiversity. Rotating groups. Possibility of a final stop at the historic Cachat spring in Evian.
A variant for second-year students is possible (Agrosystems and sustainable development).
What to bring: boots, picnic, clothes suitable for mountain hiking (fleece, windbreaker, even in summer), cap, glasses, water, notebook, pencil.
For the visit to the methanizer, an educational pack is available on request.
